The company introduced a flexo coating system specially designed for integration into a digital sheet-fed folding carton printing line. An open platform capable of high-performance alongside several major digital printing systems on today’s market, TRESU Digital Sheet Coater will enable converters to combine the benefits of small volumes, short lead-times and variable information associated with the digital process, with the ability offer full and spot UV or water-based coating features, productively, in a single printing pass. The unit is designed to be situated after the printing system in the production sequence and can also operate as a stand-alone system if requested.
A version of the Coater for the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press, under the name iCoat 30000, exhibited in the HP stand in hall 9. Live demonstrations of the coater working with the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press held.
TRESU Ancillary innovations enable constant, automated control of the ink flow. The new F10 iCon ink supply system ensures automated flexo ink pressure, viscosity and temperature control in central impression (CI) flexo printing machines. Constant viscosity ensures stable ink density on the printed substrate, while constant pressure prevents air infiltrating the anilox chamber.
Sealed chambered doctor blade systems enable direct foam-free transfer of ink / coating to anilox cells, ensuring uniform blister-free laydowns with improved drying characteristics, better reflection and higher gloss values on paper and film. Minimal manual intervention is needed.
Chamber systems for narrow-web users include FlexiPrint IMW E-Line (for web-widths up to 1800mm, 70.8” and speeds up to 500m/min, 1640ft) and closed-cassette FlexiPrint Reservoir that needs no pump (speeds to 300 m/min, 984ft). The ‘E-Line’ system with clamp enables safe, one-minute blade-changeover. The rubber Seal System forms a perfect, airtight closure, allowing faster printing speeds without leaks and long-term storage of leftover ink.
TRESU Concept offers a modular, uniquely configured mid-web printing and converting line for label, film and carton and packaging in widths up to 1300mm or 51.2”. ‘Flexo Innovator’ offers an unlimited number of print stations and numerous added-value options, including reverse-printing, cold foil, diecutting, laminating, embossing, sheeting, screen and gravure. This platform provides a single-pass alternative to labour-intensive sheet-fed or CI-printing situations and allows converters to deepen customer relationships by becoming a single-source packaging supplier, especially to food retailers.
