FHB Group, a leading fulfilment provider in Central and Eastern Europe, and Mondi, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions, are pleased to announce the successful installation of Mondi’s state-of-the-art eComPack machine at FHB Group’s fulfilment centre in Bratislava. This partnership represents a significant step in further automating their fulfilment processes just before the eCommerce peak season hits, starting with Black Friday until the end-of-the-year holidays.
Automation meets fulfilment excellence
With the rising demands of eCommerce during its peak season, speed and efficiency are crucial for fulfilment providers to remain competitive. Through this collaboration, Fulfillment by FHB Group is strengthening its position as a leader in cutting-edge fulfilment services, harnessing the power of automation to ensure faster and more accurate order processing. The eComPack machine is the latest addition to their existing portfolio of packaging machines, complementing the already well-automated packaging processes on site.
The eComPack machine, developed by Mondi, is a high-performance solution that will streamline packaging operations, providing the flexibility needed to handle the anticipated surge in orders during the busy season. With a compact footprint of only 14 m², the eComPack machine has been cleverly engineered to facilitate full automation of the packing process, from scanning and opening the packaging to filling and closing. Due to its compact size, the eComPack machine is easy to implement and fits seamlessly also into smaller Fullfilment centers as well as in brownfield warehouses. During its development, Mondi partnered with Heiber + Schröder, an expert company in the automation of paper and board solutions.
Testing & Ramp-Up for Success
Fulfillment by FHB Group and Mondi have worked closely together to test and fine-tune the integration of the eComPack machine into FHB Group’s Slovakian operation. This phased approach has ensured a smooth transition to fully automated packaging processes of the EnvelopeMailer in their fulfilment centre, perfectly timed for the high-demand season. Its installation aims to maximise operational efficiency while maintaining FHB Group’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. With automation in place, FHB Group is now better equipped to meet the needs of its diverse customer base during the peak shopping period.
