Labelexpo Southeast Asia 2025 consolidated its position as the region’s largest label and package printing event with a confident 40 percent growth, bolstered by 195 of the world’s leading suppliers in attendance. The number is a record for the event which included many international suppliers who were exhibiting for the first time, such as renowned brands Jet Technologies, Lintec, Cosmo Films, XSYS and Lemorau.
Machinery on the show floor
Labelexpo Southeast Asia 2025 featured more working machinery than previous editions, with equipment from some of the global industry leaders across the label and packaging value chain, including digital and flexographic printing equipment and automated finishing technology.
Nilpeter showcased the FA-17 flexo press, featuring advanced automation that helps reduce setup times and enhance overall production efficiency. The press can print on a variety of substrates across self-adhesive labels and flexible packaging. Domino featured the enhanced N730i digital press, which now boasts an increased maximum print speed of up to 90 m/min. At the Nilpeter stand, Domino also presented its K300 monochrome printer alongside vision inspection from Lake Image Systems, a Domino Group company.
Weigang introduced the ZX320G intermittent label offset press designed for high-end label production. Aegean He, Weigang’s Director of Marketing Communications said: “The event exceeded our expectations. First-time exhibitor Jet Technologies showcased the Omet iFlex press in a 10-color configuration featuring servo-assisted pre-register and register setting devices, quick machine setup (1-2 minutes for ten flexo units) and rapid job changeover capabilities. The company also debuted its JetiQ brand of finishing equipment developed with Polly Automatics, featuring semi-rotary flexo stations, flat-bed die-cutting and the Versatex Digital Print Bar, designed for digital varnish and high-build varnish applications.
Press Systems showcased innovations from leading global brands for label, flexible packaging and specialty applications including GEW, Asahi Photoproducts, DYM, Rhyguan, Zeller+Gmelin, Sandon Global and Troika Systems.
Portuguese manufacturer Lemorau showcased two advanced converting technologies: the Smart-L Premium die-cutting machine for pre-printed labels with flexo station and dual die-cutting modes, and the ICR4 high-speed finishing system running at up to 400 m/min. Susana Teixeira, CFO, commented on the quality of the 6019 visitors from 70 countries attending the show between 8 – 10 May at the International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC): “Over the three days of the exhibition, we welcomed numerous professionals from various countries, each with different needs and expectations. The response was very positive, with particular interest in the technological solutions presented. The support from the organizers during dismantling and packing was crucial to successfully conclude this operation. We returned from Thailand motivated, with a sense of mission accomplished and a clear reinforcement of Lemorau’s presence in the Asian region.”
Spotlight on sustainability
The Labelexpo Southeast Asia 2025 ‘Spotlight on Sustainability’ feature addressed growing consumer and legislative demands for environmental responsibility. Participants in the feature included Armor-IIMAK introducing thermal transfer ribbons that reduce waste by 12 percent, Cosmo Films supporting the circular economy through synthetic paper and green graphic films, and K Laser showcasing their 100 percent recyclable Eco-Paperboard® and rPET-based transfer films. KURZ emphasized recyclable and compostable decorative products, while Lintec presented recyclable mono-materials that enhance recycling efficiency. Lundberg’s label matrix waste handling system demonstrated practical solutions for reducing virgin material waste and CO2 emissions.
Materials in Works (MIW) focused on reducing raw materials usage and carbon footprint. Thai KK Group specializes in rPET labels with up to 100 percent post-consumer recycled content and sustainable food packaging solutions, and YUPO’s CleanSort labels enable efficient recycling by removing contaminants during the recycling process.
