Türkiye-based Recyloop Sustainable Packaging Inc. has brought the paper cup production facility of PARTYCITY, a giant at the heart of America’s billion-dollar party entertainment sector, to Türkiye. With the goal of pioneering sustainable packaging production in the country, Recyloop has transferred the company’s high-speed, advanced automation paper cup production lines to its facilities. This move brings not only a production plant but also decades of American manufacturing technology and sectoral know-how to Türkiye.
Recyloop Board Member Ömer Erhan Eroğlu stated: “With this investment, we are making Türkiye a global hub in sustainable packaging production.”
From the US to Türkiye: A Strategic Transfer
With the ambition of leading Türkiye in sustainable packaging production, Recyloop has acquired PARTYCITY’s high-speed, fully automated paper cup production lines equipped withadvanced automation systems. This means the transfer of not just machinery but also decades of American production technology, expertise, and industry experience.
With a turnover of $2.5 billion, PARTYCITY is the largest retail chain in its sector in the United States. In 2025, the company entered a significant restructuring process and decided to cease operations at its high-tech manufacturing plant in Newburgh, New York, which had been operating since 1947. Recyloop saw this as a strategic opportunity and acted quickly.
A Name that Reflects the Vision
Eroğlu explained: “The name ‘Recyloop’—first suggested during a sustainability workshop in the US—comes from combining the words Recycle and Loop, representing an eco-frie
ndly and circular production
approach. We embraced this vision and acquired the name.”
The new-generation plant in Silivri, Istanbul, will focus on recyclable, paper-based packaging, equipped with systems designed to minimize water and energy consumption. These ful
ly automated production lines, featuring AI-powered visual quality control, aim to set a new benchmark in efficiency.
“This acquisition is far more than a machinery transfer. It’s a strategic move that strengthens Türkiye’s manufacturing capabilities, expands its eco-conscious packaging vision, and positions it as a global player. The machines will be reborn in Türkiye, enabling production that meets the standards of the world’s leading coffee and party brands.”
Exceeding Global Standards in Paper Cups
Eroğlu emphasized the company’s goals: “We can now produce in a way that respects the environment and public health. Beyond producing biodegradable and recyclable cups with cutting-edge inner coatings, we aimed for something further: a production model that will raise paper cup quality above global standards.”
The US Chose Türkiye
He added:
“The technology to achieve these standards comes from the US—specifically from PMC’s high-value production lines. We had been in talks for some time when PARTYCITY—America’s largest coffee and party products retailer, operating in over 150 countries—began its restructuring. Known for its unmatched printing and sealing quality, the company decided to transfer its most advanced production lines. After discussions with multiple countries and companies, they chose Türkiye. This decision was shaped by Recyloop’s international know-how in sustainable packaging and our management’s track record of reliable partnerships with global brands such as Starbucks, McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, and Café Nero.”
A Record-Breaking Capacity Boost
“We have brought seven specialized paper cup production lines to Türkiye, adding them to our existing 20 lines for a total of 27. This represents the largest single capacity increase in Türkiye’s paper cup sector,” Eroğlu said.
Looking Ahead: 5.5 Billion Cups Annually
With a projected investment of €20 million, Recyloop aims to boost its capacity to 1 billion cups annually in the short term, generating 200 new jobs.
“By our fifth year, we aim to produce 5.5 billion cups annually—accounting for over 1% of global paper cup production,” Eroğlu noted.
Türkiye as a Global Base
Eroğlu concluded: “With these high-capacity production systems integrated in Türkiye, Recyloop will not only serve the domestic market but also export eco-friendly, sustainable, high-quality paper cups across a wide geography—from North America to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. This investment will turn Türkiye into a global hub for sustainable packaging production.”
