Welch Packaging, a family-owned custom corrugated packaging manufacturer, has installed an new HP PageWide C550 – a single pass digital corrugated press – in its headquarters in in Elkhart, Indiana. With this new investment in digital corrugated print technology, Welch Packaging is set to expand its graphics packaging business and improve customer service.
Founded in 1985, Welch Packaging is a multi-generational, family-owned business specializing in custom corrugated products and packaging solutions for various sectors, including industrial, retail, and e-commerce. With 24 manufacturing sites across 7 states, the addition of the HP PageWide C550 Press enables Welch Packaging to provide high-quality, customized graphics packaging with faster turnaround times.

The HP PageWide C550 press – based on HP Thermal Inkjet technology – provides offset print quality for a wide range of corrugated packaging and display applications on both coated and uncoated sheets, delivering sharp text and barcodes, smooth tone transitions, and vivid colors. Designed to produce high-quality print in demanding production environments, the press runs at a speed of 295 linear feet/min with 1200 NPI resolution using true water-based inks.
